Why Contracts

When vendors provide high level services like dedicated service, perks like very low rates or add ons at no cost come with it. Good for your side!

It would stand to reason that these carriers would want to insure that the user, aka your company, would remain their customer for time in order for the service to be beneficial to both parties. For example, there can be installation costs and maintenance costs associated with your service that would not be recoverable in six months time.

So to compensate for these added costs and still be able to provide those low rates and customer service you expect, service agreements or contracts are needed.

Your T1 provider will be your provider for some time - hopefully you'll build a relationship together that profits both sides. Just be sure you consider that relationship BEFORE you sign that contract! Choosing an inadequate provider can have negative effects on your business and your sanity.
